Because thai people's standard language are not English. They come from a different places. Some Thai people can talk Laos, Esan, Khmer, Northern Language or Southern Language. Then they have to study about english. And they don't really know about that. They get confused when they see an English vocabulary.

In my opinions are the teacher always speak Thai with students and don't let students try to speak by themselve.In Thailand we focus on doing the exam more than speaking English. Thai students learn English since they were at 4-5 year but they can't speak English because of the uneffective education.

In Thailand, we have our own language, and English is just a second language that we don’t use in daily life. It’s an optional language to study and use. About education, if we talk about English classes, some might say a school is bad at teaching English, but then why are some students good at English while others can’t speak it, even though they study in the same class? I think it depends on personal interest in learning the language, which is normal.

I think it’s very possible to have all of Thai people speaking but most of Thai people can understand what the foreign say but Thai people shy to answer questions back.

In my point of view, I think Thai people are not good at English because some people don’t have an opportunity to learn English. More over Thai education system just teaching only grammar they didn’t focus on how to communicate or how to use it in every day life. I think that is the point why Thai people are not that good in English. I think it’s very challenge for English teacher in Thailand. If English teacher can solve this problem, it will be really good with Thai people.

In my opinion, Thai people don’t consider English important for them. Moreover, it’s partly due to the education system in Thailand, where the government doesn’t prioritize it for students.Thai education tends to focus on making students memorize everything they are taught, but they rarely use it in real life situations. As a result, students often don’t know how to apply what they’ve learned when they encounter real-life scenarios.
