I would recommend No Longer Human by Osamu Dasai. You can read both of a novel version and manga version that is drawn by Junji Ito. The story of this book is beautiful but pathetic. Whenever I finish this book, I realize that I am such a disgusting and pathetic person. Plus, I want you to try reading the manga version by Junji Ito as well. This manga is well-written and beautiful. It can show you pictures of how pathetic the book version is. I think it is easier to understand what the book version wants to present to us.
